TERMS & CONDITIONS charlotteterres.com
updated april 2026
1. SCOPE AND PRODUCTS
These Terms & Conditions of Sale govern the sale of photographic prints offered on the website charlotteterres.com. The works available are fine art photographic prints produced on art paper in limited editions. Each print is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity indicating the edition number and the origin of the work.
The photographs displayed on the website are reproduced as faithfully as possible. However, slight colour variations may occur between the image shown on screen and the final print, due to display settings.
2. ORDER AND PAYMENT
Placing an order on the website constitutes full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions. An order is considered final once payment has been validated. Payment is processed through the secure payment methods available on the website. The photographer reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order in the event of a prior dispute with the buyer or suspected fraud.
3. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The purchase of a print does not transfer any copyright. All photographs and content on the website remain the exclusive intellectual property of Charlotte Terres, in accordance with French intellectual property law. Any reproduction, representation, distribution, or exploitation of the images, in any form whatsoever, is strictly prohibited without prior written authorisation.
4. PRICING AND DELIVERY
All prices are listed in euros (€).
Shipping costs: Standard delivery costs are calculated at checkout. For certain destinations not covered by standard rates, the photographer reserves the right to propose additional shipping charges, which will be communicated to the buyer before dispatch.
Dispatch times: Works are dispatched within a reasonable timeframe following order confirmation. Delivery times may vary depending on the destination and the carrier. The photographer cannot be held responsible for delays attributable to the carrier.
Customs: For orders shipped outside the European Union, any customs duties, import taxes, or local taxes are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
Upon receipt: The buyer is responsible for checking the condition of the package upon delivery. Any anomaly or damage must be reported immediately to the carrier and communicated to the photographer.
5. CARE AND LIABILITY
Photographic prints are delicate works of art. It is the buyer's responsibility to handle and store the works with care, in particular by avoiding: prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, humidity, and inappropriate handling.
The photographer cannot be held responsible for: the natural ageing of materials over time, or damage caused by improper handling, storage, or framing.
6. RETURNS, EXCHANGES, AND REFUNDS
Given the nature of the works offered — produced in limited editions and often printed to order — the following conditions apply.
No refunds: No refund will be issued once an order has been validated.
Exchanges: An exchange may be considered at the photographer's sole discretion. The buyer must contact the photographer by email before returning any item.
Return timeframe and conditions: Any accepted return must be made within 15 days of receiving the order. The work must be returned in its original packaging, in perfect condition, with no signs of use or deterioration. Any damaged item cannot be accepted for return or exchange.
Return costs: Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
7. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
In accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised. As the prints offered on the website are produced in limited editions and often printed to order, the right of withdrawal may not apply.
8. DISPUTES AND APPLICABLE LAW
These Terms & Conditions are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable resolution will be sought as a priority. In the absence of an amicable settlement, French courts shall have sole jurisdiction.
